In the Mind of a Gemini

Hello, Welcome to my blog.  So what will this blog be about?  Good question…

I have no idea.
It will include many of the things that make me, me.  I’ll play to my strengths so there will be a lot of baking and cooking tips.  Baking has always been a part of my life, as such, there are numerous vignettes on life to be understood through the art of baking and cooking.  And if you have a baking quandary, I might be able to assist.

If you all ask nicely and say please, I might be persuaded to include some of the basics of Latin, the language, the sentence structure, the elements of classical rhetoric, and the hair-pulling, Latin dictionary throwing frustration.

One of my favorite Latin quotes that holds true as I edit is: “Nemo enim aliquam partem recte intelligere possit antequam totum iterum atque iterum perlegerit” No one many be able rightly to understand one part before he has again and again read through the whole.
(and probably read through again)

As an editor, I may speak from time to time on editing and provide tips and hints.
Also, I LOVE trivia, love it.  So there will be some of that as well.  You, my dear readers, will learn some of the random information that floats around in my head.  Interesting fact: a giraffe can go without water longer than a camel.

So there you have it, that’s me in a nutshell.  Enjoy your day, I know I am enjoying mine.

About Julanne

I work as an editor with Hellfire Publishing spending my days editing manuscripts from talented writers while eating popcorn and sitting in my pj's.

Graduating with a Juris Doctorate from University of Oregon School of Law, I studied environmental law issues ranging from international environmental treaties to endangered species to hazardous wastes.  Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, I earned a double Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Classics.

I participated in a study-abroad program to Italy studying ancient Roman art and architecture and took a tour of archeological dig-sites beneath the Vatican and Herculaneum and Pompeii.

I am an avid reader.  As the daughter of a librarian, I literally grew up in a library.  I love being surrounded by books, whether it's an old classic, a new release, or a cookbook, and own no less than three fully stocked bookshelves.  My other hobbies include horse-back riding, playing video games, knitting, and am considered an expert baker by friends and family.
